Thursday 31st August
We visited Grandad's house today - sadly Father Christmas had gone and we can't go downstairs anymore as there is someone else living there.

In the morning we went picking some blackberries with Grandma. We also picked some sloes for some reason - they don't really taste very nice at all. I took a lemon along just in case I needed to pick that.

Wednesday 30th August
I went to a really nice park today - I met two really nice girls at the top of the slide. I think they liked my freckles or my compliments - I told them that they had nice hair and they followed me all around the park and did all the tasks that I set them - such as spinning the roundabout for me.

Tuesday 29th August
I was not allowed to help Dad pack the tent up today - instead we were forced to go the park for an hour where we played quite happily until Dad had packed the whole car up. I'm not sure how he managed to make it all fit but he did it somehow.

I spoke to TIm when we got to grandma's house and made friends with him again.

Monday 28th August
We spent the whole wide day on the beach today. It was a very big, flat, windy beach with lots of waves to run away from. Dad even went in the sea which is a very rare thing indeed. MUm and Dad made us a lovely sandcastle boat which we sailed for ages. I became a pirate and shouted "SHIVERY TIMBERS"

In the afternoon grandma said YES and we went on the highest ever bouncer. Dad got on the bouncy thing and pinged my elastic so that I shot really high in the air. It was the best thing ever.

Sunday 27th August
Today we went to a train station and waited for a train to come. I had a look at the turntable while we were waiting. Eventually the train came and took us to a magical place where there were other trains, mazes, crazy golf and even a cafe. I got a hole in one and so did peter and so did Dad.

In the evening Grandma came and brought food for everyone.

Saturday 26th August
Today we went for ages and arrived at the wrong beach. Apparently it was very dirty. We flew kites because the sea was so far away. Afterwards we had a big fat picnic and threw food at seagulls.

Friday 25th August
There was another beach to visit today. Dad bought us a net so that we could look in some rock pools. Mum did all the beach work though as Dad is not very keen on the whole seaside thing.

Thursday 24th August
In the morning we went to Eden. There were kiwi fruit just waiting to be picked. Dad managed to stop me though.

We drove for ages to get to a beach today. It was a very small one and apparently there were weaver fish in the sand because there were lots of children crying. I wore my shoes.

Wednesday 23rd August
We are finally camping - I have been asking about it for at least a week. When we got to the site is wasn't raining but Dad didn't really want any of our help putting the tent up so we went exploring. We found a playground and a swimming pool. We went swimming and when we had finished the tent was up with all our bits inside it.

We had tea in a restaurant and I had a tantrum. How disagreeable of me.

Tuesday 22nd August
I woke up good and early today and managed to persuade Dad to come downstairs with me and play. He fell asleep.

Later we went for a walk to the very top of cadbury castle for a picnic. When we got there there was no chocolate and no castle. A big swindle.

Later on in the day I beat Dad in a "no it isn't" "yes it is" game.

Monday 21st August
I heard father Christmas today. I was sitting in Grandad's living room and a voice came out of the fireplace. It said "ANDREW ANDREW ARE YOUR THERE? CAN YOU HEAR ME?" I said that I could and that i had been a really good boy this year. I'm sure Father Christmas is stuck in grandad's chimney.

Sunday 20th August
The first thing I did was to wake up really too early and then have a long run around the whole wide house. After that had happened Grandma and Mum took us for a very very long walk to a playground. Grandma pushed me on the swing for about half an hour.

In the afternoon I made a gingercake with a lot of sticky treacle. As a warning to others I will add that you should never ever eat raw ginger powder.

Saturday 19th August
There was a very long journey today and as it turned out we were never nearly there yet. It was lovely to get to Grandmas house and she had even put out nearly all of her toys and books into one handy bag so that we could empty them all over the floor in one go.

Friday 18th August
I needed to be sure about the camping situation so I asked Dad when he got home from work. Question 1: Are we going camping? Question 2: Are going camping in the same tent that we went camping in last year? Question 3: Are we also going to see Grandma? I was very happy when Dad told me that the answers were all yes.

Thursday 17th August
There will not be much news today - except I burnt my tongue on the chocolate fondue that went so wrong. First the cold cream turned the chocolate into cake of some sort adn then the next bit got too hot.

Wednesday 16th August
There will be no news today.

Tuesday 15th August
I didn't sleep very well last night so to make a little change I thought that I would reverse my direction in my bed. I went to bed with my head where my toes usually are. I suspect I'll getup in the middle of the night and fall into my den, but we'll have to wait and see.

Monday 14th August
Poor old Dad had to mow the lawn when he got back from work in preparation for Peter and I playing in the garden tomorrow. He did a reasonable job too. There was one bit he had to go over 5 or 6 times before I was satisfied with it.

Just before bed I rand Grandma and had a lovely long talk with her about nothing in particular. I asked her if we could come and visit at the weekend and she was kind enough to say yes. Hoorah!

Sunday 13th August
Poor Dad has got a really bad headache nad has to lie down in a dark room for ages. I gave him as many cuddles as I could when he was awake and I told him how much I missed him while he was not with us.

Saturday 12th August
Finally we are home - the journey took ages, because of all the accidents adn traffic. I gave Dad a great big hug as soon as we got home.

Friday 11th August
I went to Pauls baptism today and was very good. Peter pretended to be Dad so I pretended to be Peter.

Thursday 10th August
There will be no news today. :(

Wednesday 9th August
Today I went ot the beach with Magdalen and Peter and we collected an awful lot of shells. I saw a seal in the sea and a deep sea diver who looked a bit like a seal.

Tuesday 8th August
We even went to the beach again todayand made even more sandcastles.I made a friend with a stripey jumper person. It was too cold in the sea but I sort of like it when it's really cold. It gives me goose bumps.

Monday 7th August
We went to the beach today. It was windy and cold and stoney. We went swimming and made sandcastles. Eventually we had to get back into the car where it was lovely and warm and very very sandy.

Are we nearly there yet? FINALLY we have arrived at Mama and Dad's house. FINALLY. I have investigated fully and found my fire engine and my tea set and my little horse. All is well. Sadly Dad had to go back home on the train almost as soon as we arrived. I shall miss my friend woody.

Saturday 5th August
Today we went to the cinema and we were nearly the only people in thewhole place. I sat in nealry every chair in the whole wide cineam and no one minded. Dad took us to see Ant Bully and I think I will give it 7/10 for the plot. I give the sweeties we had 10/10 for their all round sweetness.

Friday 4th August
Today we went to the park and I had a pretend birthday party. First I made a pretend cake and ten put some pretend candles on it. Then I asked Mum to turn the lights off so that I could light the candles. Then I had to ask her to turn them back on again, because I couldn't see. It was all very confusing for her.

Thursday 3rnd August
We went to the paddling pool park today and I pretended to be a basking shark by drinking the pool water (despite repeated warnings). I didn't feel very well in the afternoon. I suspect that this is my own fault.

Wednesday 2nd August
We didn't see much of Dad today as he was stuck at work. He did leave us somme chocolate though, which was very nice. In the morning we went to a soft play area. I wasn't much interested in the soft bit though. I did enjoy the play cafe. I served egg and spoons at extortionate prices throughout the morning.

Tuesday 1st August
I had to go to the health centre today for an undisclosed reason. When I got there I found out that I was there to have INJECTIONS. I had two of them, each worse than the last, one in each leg. I was not happy about the whole incident.

Also - Peter and I have started a band. He plays the guitar and I am the talker inner. We are called "the cool zurgs". I think we will go far.
