Monday
31st January
Today
we did a lot of playing outside as the weather was so nice. I played
in the sand and rode around on my bike. Peter rode around on his bike
and THEN played in the sand. It was all sharing all the way. Even the
winning, we did lots of sharing of winning.
I
wore some sunglasses and a yellow builders hat today. I looked very
classy.
Sunday
30th January
We
went for another bike ride around the park today, this time we went
to the duck park which has some very tricky hill sections, combined
with some steep drops to the side. I fell off twice
There
was no viewing of Shrek today but did make a few click noises just to
keep in practice. I also practiced saying "I AM AN OGRRRRRE!"
In a very loud voice.
Saturday
29th January
I
helped a lot with the shopping today, after Dad was abscent from last
week's trip I made sure to be extra helpful this week. I put several
things into the trolley until I got occupied with an apple, at which
point I lost interest.
Later
on in the afternoon, after watching Shrek, I leant forward towards Dad
and made a "tchat" noise with my mouth. Dad got the idea and
said "just be yourself for 5 minutes.." It was very funny.
Friday
28th January
I
am really very tired today because Dad and Mum had to spend most of
the night persuading me to stay in my bed. Although they were very persuasive,
I was very forgetful. Either that or I imagined that they would change
their mind the next time I wandered into their room.
My
favourite book at the moment is "Dear Zoo". I send all the
animals to the naughty place. Even the puppy. Generally I make the right
noise for the animal too. Dad doesn't let me do this when I have a mouth
full of milk.
Thursday
27th January
I have
once again been the king of the potty. Today I managed nearly the whole
day without one on. Towrads the end of the day I was oo tired to care
really so Mum put a special grown up potty training nappy on for me.
I can take them up or down at will, but I'm so tired I don't think i'll
bother.
Wednesday
26th January
I have
become the new lord of the potty and all others who may have at some
point laid claim to the title must step aside. I've done very well today
and didn't wear a nappy all afternoon. I rang Dad everytime anything
happened. Mum offered me some stickers but I wanted to speak to Dad
instead.
Tuesday
25th January
I have
learnt so many words in the last week that Dad has been very surprised
with all the little sentances that I know now. Even after only seven
days. Sometimes it takes a little while for all the words in the sentance
to come out but it usually makes sense when they do.
Monday
24th January
I've
been waiting for ages for Dad to come home and NOW he is here! I clung
to his leg for a while. I've got a nice present from Medduh, but I'll
be needing some help using it as all the pieces are still a bit stiff.
It's good to have him back - it gives me somewhere else to sit - his
knees are very comfortable.
Sunday
23rd January
Engie
Benjy Day!! That means that tomorrow is Daddy Day! Hurray! I spoke to
Dad on the phone today. We had a nice long chat. Little Bill was on
the TV and I told Dad "Look, look, Little Bill!" but for some
reason he couldn't see. I have been telling Mum all about America this
week, but as I call it Medduh she sometimes gets confused.
In
spite of some really bad behaviour by Peter this morning, we went to
see Engie Benjy at the Theatre. It was brilliant. We took some crisps
and sweets in Mums handbag and saw a very long story, with songs and
lights and joining in to do. I had a seat of my own but I prefered to
sit on Mum's lap. Much more snuggly. I was very good.
Mum
has been telling us some very good stories at bed time. They are all
about Peter and Andrew and the adventures that we get up to. Sometimes
we find secret cupboards that lead to magical lands and sometimes we
meet people from our favourite TV shows, we go on trips on bikes, in
trains, in planes, buses, helicopters, motorbikes. Sometimes our magic
bed flies into the air up to the stars and lands in funny places like
the jungle or the middle of the ocean and we sail it to an island. Tonight
we went to San Fransisco by bed. Dad was there and he gave us a big
cuddle. My favourite is when we go to Balamory to visit Archie's pink
castle.
Saturday
22nd January
Last
night I tried to stay awake all night and I nearly managed it too, but
Mum is so good at tricking me into nodding off.
I fell asleep at 8pm, woke briefly at 10pm and 12pm, not so briefly
at 3am, and woke up for good at 5am. Not bad, not bad at all.
This
morning, as Peter and I lounged on the sofa watching Mum do the tidying
and cleaning, Peter helped me to say Peter properly. He even spelt it
for me, but unfortunately I'm not very good at spelling. So we sat together
saying Peter for ages. After that I called him Beebah or Buddee as usual
as I prefer it.
We
took our bikes in the car to Victoria park and met Gaye there. We were
all set to have lots of fun, when I remembered I hadn't had a really
good tantrum for ages so I had one in the park. After ignoring me for
a while Mum picked me up and carried me fireman style over her shoulder
while pushing the bike with her other hand. This was most undignified
and I decided to forget the tantrum and to sing PC Plum's song instead.
Friday
21st January
This morning I got a train in the post from Grandma and spent
all day playing with it. In the afternoon Mum took us to Stratford to
visit Uncle Mark and then we went to where the Teletubbies live and
I had a go on Noo Noo. As if that wasn't enough fun for one day, then
we went to Old MacDonalds and had a milkshake to share! Fantastic.
I
have had a few tantrums in the last few weeks. Well its only natural,
being two and everything. My favourite phrase is "no tantum, Beebah,
no tantum"
Thursday
20th January
This morning Mum took me to the swimming pool while Peter was
at school. We had loads of fun and I swam in my arm bands for ages.
I like jumping in from the side, sometimes sitting, sometimes standing,
and sometimes from the steps. Each time I make a really big splash.
I used a wtering can to water Mum's head and this game took ages, in
fact I didn't want to ever stop watering Mum's head. That's when we
had to go. I loved the shower too and spent ages in there. In the afternoon
Mum took us to Funky Monkeys, another soft play place. Its almost as
if she is trying to wear us out!
Wednesday
19th January
Mum let us have a soft play area at home today. We got all the
cushions off the sofa and jumped around for ages, then she took us on
the car to Hatton soft play. It was brilliant. I went down the slide
twice, all on my own. Mum sat at the top for ages but she couldn't decide
what to do, so I showed her how to do it. I was exhausted afterall that
fun and I was in bed, asleep before 7pm. I had a really bad night last
night and I think I may have another one tonight. Maybe with a really
early start too!
Tuesday
18th January
Daddy has gone to America on an aeroplane today. I hope its
not because I'm two. I have waved at lots of aeroplanes, but none of
them have waved back. Mum says that Dad might be ON the aeroplane. It
would be very cold and windy I think. On the plus side, though Mum has
been trying to cheer us all up with fun games and things to do. We had
breakfast in our tent this morning and this afternoon Mum took us to
the multi storey car park. I love going up the ramp and trying to guess
what number level comes next. Peter always guesses right. How does he
do it? Gaye visited us at tea time and I showed off my new scissor cutting
skills
Monday
17th January
IT'S
MY BIRTHDAY TODAY. I AM TWO [2].
I've
spent most of the day singing "happy birthday to me, happy birthday
to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me." Mum let me
talk to Dad on the phone and that's what I sang to him.
I've
had lots of lovely presents today - there was a lovely boot lacing thing
from Mama and Dada, and a special driving toy from Gaye and Simon. The
best thing of the whole day was a card that sang "Old MacDonald"
I opened that card ONE HUNDRED times.
When
Dad came home there were even more presents. I was very tired when I
went to bed and feeling every year of my age.
Sunday
16th January
I went
swimming today and I was really good at it. I wore some really big water
wings which helped me float. Dad helped a tiny bit with getting my bottom
up, but I did all the kicking about. I even moved undermy own steam
a little bit. I did swallow some water. I told Dad "I ate water"
He was very sympathetic and patted my back for a bit until I had spat
it all out.
Saturday
15th January
Everyone
was watching Peter Pan today and I wasn't really evry interested in
it. It's a bit slow moving for my tastes. I like my films to be a bit
more "Shreky". Anyway - I read a Teletubbies book instead.
After I had read it I found that If I rubbed my finger up and down the
book it made a squeaky noise so I did that for about half an hour.
Friday
14th January
If
I can manage to get Dad to lie on the floor and then to curl his toes
backwards, I've found that his feet make an ideal little seat for me.
It's a bit fally-offy, but that makes it even more fun to do.
Thursday
13th January
I
slept like a baby last night - there wasn't even any waking up until
7.00, which I believe is ideal as far as Mum and Dad are concerned.
My new bed is very comfortable and there's room for me to twist all
the way round without banging my head on any cot bars. My cot has gone
into the loft now, so I guess I'm officially quite a big boy now.
I
had a go at wearing pants today. It was a reasonably sucessful experiment
which was aborted by Mum in the nick of time.
Wednesday
12th January
I'm
so nearly two that it's not true.
Today
I watched Peter make some cakes while I was doing all the washing up
for Mum for the cake makery. I did get to eat some of the cakes though.
I suspect that most of the washing up needed doing again, but as it
wasn't me re-doing it it didn't matter too much.
When
Dad came home he made my bit of the new bed. I get to sleep in a big
bed tonight. I hope I don't fall out. Mum tucked me in extra well.
Tuesday
11th January
It
was a really rainy day today so we had to stay inside all afternoon.
We did some sticking and some colouring in some special scrapbooks that
Mum made. We also watched some films. THe piglet one was my favourite.
Shrek was my favourite too. They're all my favourites.
Peter's
bed is really good. I fit vey nicely into it beside him.
Monday
10th January
We
had to go and pick up a parcel for Dad today so as we were passing I
persuaded Mum to take us to the park. Peter and I had a lovely time
together. He's my friend and we hug each other.
Sunday
9th January
We went to a park this evening and it was really cold and windy.
We found a zip slide there so I was able to say "hold on tight"
in my most concerned voice. Dad nearly dropped me though - he made a
lucky save and only my hat fell off.
I'm
having a grumpy night tonight.
Saturday
8th January
I was awake all night because of monsters last night. Dad made
them go away several times, but they always seems to hide just in the
corner. I pointed them out to Dad and he saw them off.
There
was a small (ish) tantrum today when we were going to the park. I can't
accept that I need to hold someone's hand when I'm walking along the
pavement. Dad carted me to the park in the car in the end, as he was
passing by on his way back from somewhere. The park was bitterly cold.
Friday
7th January
I've been waking up at night a lot recently. It's all to do with
the monsters and dragons that seem to inhabit my room at night. I've
been getting a bit fed up with them. Dad and Mum have assured me thatthere
aren't any, but I'm sure that I might have seen one.
I
walked from Peter's school to just into town today and it took me nearly
an hour. I was doing an awful lot of dawdling. There's always so much
to look at in detail.
Thursday
6th January
I walked all the way to Peter's school today and then I walked
all the way back. It's a very long way too. I had to keep reminding
Mum along the way that my name isn't "sweetheart" it's "Andrew".
I
did some really good sticking today. I found some spare glue and some
squares of paper that weren't being used and stuck them down all by
myself. The results were more than satisfactory.
Wednesday
5th January
Today is the third day that Mum and Dad have mysteriously been
loading up the car with various bits and pieces - even some of our toys
have gone in the car. The strange thing is that after Dad comes back
from going out the car is EMPTY.
Anyhow
Mum took us to the park so that Dad could carry on with his mysterious
job in secret. It was very cold so I had to say "wipe nose please"
to Mum so I could continue my journey up the ladder of the pirate ship
unempeded by goo.
Tuesday
4th January
We went to the windiest playground in the world this morning
and I had some goes on a zip slide. I sat on Dad's knee and said "hold
tight". We were supposed to go swimming but apparently the pool
was empty.
Afterwards
we went to the soft play area where I was almost able to keep up with
the bigger children - there was an incident where I got trapped between
four enormous red balls and Dad had to come in and rescue me, but apart
from that I did ok.
Monday
3rd January
I
am now in almost full command of the english language. There are many
many words that I can say and although sometimes I get misunderstood
I can usually get my point across to either Mum or Dad. I usually like
to ad a "yes" when they guess what I'm saying correctly -
they get frustrated if I don't. My favourite word today was "Shrek".
Sunday
2nd January
Grandma
is STILL here today but she has to go at lunchtime so we had a lot to
squeeze in. I rode my bike to the park which was a really long way and
I only got there and back because there was always a little puddles
to ride through. I was exhausted by the time we got home.
We
watched Shrek in the afternoon because we were all very tired. There
was a duvet on the sofa and little bowls of chocolate buttons. It was
all very cosy.
Saturday
1st January
Grandma
is still here today and we have decided to have a lovely day. First
we rode our bikes round the park and then played in some lovely big
muddy puddles.
There
was even more of a mess to be made when we got home because Mum put
a big piece of paper over the whole table and got the paints out so
that we could use the paintbrushes that Grandma bought for us. I did
some good work in crimson and only got a little bit on my shirt. Dad
made me somme potato bits with stars on to do some printing.
Later
on I made some ginger biscuits. I think they could have done with just
a pinch more ginger.
