: : : Here is the
news for November : : :
Tuesday
30th November
I monopolised
Dad when he came home so that I could play some games with him. First
I played a hiding game, but that was rubbish because I hid on the floor
in plain view. Next I usd him as a climbing frame and then helped him
do his exercises by jumping up and down on his tummy with my tiny pointy
feet. I think he likes it. After that we were tired so I made him blow
up the whoopee cushion and squidge it outon my tummy which made me laugh
a lot. Then it was bedtime, which was sad.
Monday
29th November
I may
have learned my lesson about sitting still on chairs when I have socks
on. Dad told me to be careful many times this evening but I ignored
every warning and then fell right off the chair onto my head. There
was a nast bump and I made a lot of noise. It was ok after a while though.
A good night's sleep will sort me out.
I
pushed my little pushchair all the way to the shop today and that's
a really long way. I couldn't manage to push it all the back though
because I wore out my legs. I rode on the buggy board instead.
Sunday
28th November
We
went out in the car this morning to go for a bike ride. It took a while
to get there and there was some worry becuase it was raining, but in
the end it didn't matter because I fell off my bike into two puddles
and then did a bit pf puddle jumping. Then I got bored and Dad had to
carry me all the way back to the car. That's when he hurt his shoulder.
I
had my haircut today, It's not my first haircut but it is nearly my
first one. THis time I had alittle bit off all over, last time It was
only on the sides. My hair is still very fine and wispy but now apparently
it's a sandy brown colour rather than a reddy brown colour.
Saturday
27th November
I was
really fed up for most of the day today. I wasn't really feeling very
well and there is plenty of goo coming out of my nose. Dad has to really
be on the ball with the tissues. I was also really grumpy when we went
shopping. I didn't get to walk around the shop (as usual I was tied
into my trolley) I was partially pacified with grapes and cheese though. But
very cross about not being able to eat all of the grapes and cheese.
Friday
26th November
I've
got a new favourite book that Dad has been reading to me after bath
time. We lie down on Peter's bed on our tummies, which I find quite
difficult and then he reads me Mr. Magnolia. I call it Mr. Mack for
short. I have a few favourite bits, ALL the bits that say BOOT, the
pages where he's in bed (night night), the page with the Dinosaur and
the pages with TOOT and HOOT on them. Dad read it THREE times this evening.
Thursday
25th November
Finally
Dad looked in my mouth today and to his surprise, and everyone elses,
I now have ALL of my teeth! The full set of 20. On of them has just
poked through a little tiny bit but Dad says that it counts as being
through. I'm going to get a tooth cake on Saturday.
Wednesday
24th November
Dad
did some good tricks today with the fake mustard pot that has a special
springy spring in it that pops out when you undo the lid. It often takes
me by surprise even when I know it's going to happen. Dad helped me
do it about 50 times. I say if a novelty joke is funny once then it's
funny always. There was much hilarity.
Tuesday
23rd November
Yesterday
I took my xylophone to bed with me when it was my nap time. It meant
I could sing myself a little song when I woke up and accompany myself
with some little notes. Today I asked MUm if I could take my guitar
to bed with me. Apparently it's too spiky to have in bed. Apparently
Dad NEVER takes his guitar to bed with him.
Monday
22nd November
I went
to the baby group today while Peter was at school. I think Mum did dancing.
I did some drawing and a little bit of hiding. Nothing else is known
about my activities.
I
may have another tooth coming through - I've been out of sorts.
When
Dad came home I went on the computer and did some key pressing to play
a game. It was an easy game but it was most enjoyable thanks for asking.
Afterwards I had a pillow fight with Dad. He had the upper hand because
he can lift two pillows at once whereas I can only lift one. I biffed
him on the head as hard as I could and was very surprised when he fell
over and then couldn't see me. I had to hit him again to remind him.
Sunday
21st November
Dad
bought me a tiny pink monster this morning. I only dropped it a few
times - once outside the lift in boots. Luckily it was still there on
the floor when we went back down again. I pushed it very firmly onto
my thumb. Peter keeps trying to share it with me, which is ok because
I get a go on his green monster, but it means I lose track of my pink
one.
I
had lots of fun on the roundabouts. Even though I was feeling a bit
sick I managed to go round and round for ages. Dad helped me on the
trampolines - he tried holding my hands first but he was just bouncing
me everywhere. The best way was when he lifted me up and did all the
bouncing himself - even though he complained that his back hurt. He
can go really high - I expect it's because he's so heavy.
Saturday
20th November
I went
to the shop AGAIN with Daddy. It's been my turn to go for ages, I'm
beginning to suspect that Peter hasw been doing something special on
his own with Mum. I had some grapes, cheese and ham though and that
made up for it. I said "51" after the lady said "51".
She came over and gave us some ham.
Friday
19th November
I walked
a really long way today. After we dropped Peter off at school I walked
all the way from my house to the post office and back again. Obviously
it took ages and ages. Mum had to walk very slowly to keep up with me.
I
slept in this morning for once and Dad hadto come in and wake me up.
I was really confused for a minute because I didn't wake up at 6.00.
Maybe Mum and Dad's long early waking nightmare is over and maybe it
isn't. Nothing is certain yet.
Thursday
18th November
Mum
drew some faces on my knees today - they were both smiley faces, unless
I stood on my head and looked at them upside down. Then of course they
were sad faces. Dad did some sad faces when he looked at them because
they were very difficult to wash of when it was bathtime.
After
bathtime and when I was dressed after all my wriggling Dad read me a
book and I said CROC-O-DI-UL. I said it very slowly and carefully so
as not to get it wrong.
Wednesday
17th November
I've
been very screechy today.
I
went to play at someone elses house today. They had a cat and some fish.
I played really nicely for over an hour without a single peep. I was
very busy looking at fish - that's why. As soon as Mum came to get me
I registered my outrage with some shouting.
I
had another Tantrum at bathtime this evening. It was to do with the
bath crayons again. Dad washed all my artwork off again. This time I
had drawn some really nice things. Today I did some really good drawings
- I did my first attempts at a great big face. I drew three faces in
all and they were quite good although some of the eyes may have been
in slightly the wrong place.
Tuesday
16th November
I have
a new favourite mode of transport. Jumping. I can get anywhere all around
the whole wide house (or even outside) by jumping instead of walking.
It might not be faster but It's higher and much much more fun.
Last
nihtI sang baa baa black sheep to myself. "Have-oo-ne-wol? yes
yes yes yes yes yes yes."
We
had some Ice Lollys today - Mum asked us to eat them in the kitchen,
but Peter said that as he'd never eaten an Ice Lolly in the sitting
room that he would like to do so. I trotted after him of course, so
Mum was forced to follow us and do our nefarious bidding.
We
had the tent to day and it was great. When Dad came home I made him
go into the tent and lie down. I tucked him in with a little duvet.
Then I lay down next to him and started snoring. Just like him.
Monday
15th November
I'm
not feeling very well today. There's illness afoot - maybe there's a
tooth coming through - no one knows.
I
sang "baa baa black sheep" to myself at bedtime this evening.
Here's how it went "ba baaaa black sheep have-oo-n-e-wol, yes yes
yes yes yes yes yes" - It was the best song ever sang by anyone.
Sunday
14th November
We
went into the garden this evening and blew some bubbles in the dark.
They look very nice when it's dark. Peter got to wave a sparkler around
too although there was some confusion about exactly where he should
wave it - NOT anywhere near me apparently. Anyway - I gotreally confused
by the bubble blowing equipment - I'm never quite sure which end to
blow, so sometimes it's ok and sometimes I have to make a funny soap
face. I'm also not sure whether to blow or suck, so sometimes it's ok
and sometimes I make a funny soap face.
Saturday
13th November
I went
shopping with Dad this morning and everything proceeded as usual up
until the point at which I was given a little pot of chocolate cake.
Not only did I eat the cake, but I also ate a rather nice chunk of polystyrene
too. I told Dad that I had eaten it in the time honoured tradition of
pointing at my mouth and making a big rolly eyes "hmmmm that was
nice face."
"OH
NO! Mummy's gone!" I was very upset this morning when I found out
that Mum had gone swimming. I pretend fell over and then did some pretend
sobbing, while peeping up above my arm to see if anyone was watching.
Dad
was pouring water from a cup at bath time and this time he was doing
it fromvery high up. I had a lot of fun "reversing" into the
water and splashing myself. Mum and Dad thought it was very funny.
Friday
12th November
It
was Dad's birthday today and we made him some cards which we gave him
this morning. Mine had a picture of the wiggles on it which I had coloured
in by myself Mum helped me with some suggestions and with some of the
glueing. We even gave him some presents and I'm pleased to say that
Dad shared his birthday around so that everyone had a present. I got
a little bag full of dinosaurs.
Thursday
11th November
I have
been really doing some really good jumping today. I have even been jumping
off Mum and Dads bed. I have to get Dad to hold my hands while I do
it but he doesn't actually add much safety into the equation. After
my flying leap I pull my legs up and land on my bottom. Dad is only
holding onto my hands so he can't actually support my weight. I land
on my bottom on Peter's mattress. It's so much fun that I have to do
it several times.
Wednesday
10th November
I went
on a bus today after we dropped Peter off at school. We only went into
town but I pointed at ever bit of the bus that I could see and said
"bus" at it.
Dad
did some good pretend splashing at bedtime when he mademe splash about
on the bed instead of in the bath. This is because I can empty the bath
of water by jumping up and down in it. Splashing on his bed is just
as good, because although there isn't any actual water, there is some
extra bounce involved. Dad also stands by to make sure that Idon't splash
myself right off the bed.
Tuesday
9th November
I have
a new favourite game of... "there were ten in the bed". I
usually have to play it with two or three at the maxiumu though because
there is only so much room on the sofa. I lie down on the inside of
the sofa and Mum sings the song and then rolls off the sofa. I help
by pushing a little bit. After that I like to do a bit of horse riding,
which is where Dad becomes useful.
Monday
8th November
I spent
most of the afternoon pretending to be a bear. It's quite an easy thing
to do. All our big bears have jumpers to keep them warm in the winter,
so borrowing a jumper is easy. Once you put that jumper on the transformation
into a bear is complete. A few growls later and everyone is asking where
Andrew has gone. The zenith of the performance was when I put two big
bears on the sofa and sat in between them. NO ONE KNEW WHERE I HAD GONE.
Sunday
7th November
Dad
took us for a long drive just before tea this evening. He let us choose
which direction to go it. Peter was better at saying "left"
and "right" and "straight on", but I helped by just
shouting loudly at the right times.
I've
had a very cuddly day today. Dad has been enjoying sitting quietly on
the sofa and I have been enjoying sitting right next to him wedged into
the gap between him and the sofa arm. Later on I enjoyed riding him
like a little horse.
Saturday
6th November
It
was a daddy stay at home day today so obivously someone had to go shopping.
Peter and I worked out who it would be while Mum was swimming and Dad
was looking after us my snoring on the sofa. Peter said he was too ill
to go so I went.I had some grapes, an apple, and piece o ham and a star
shaped biscuit. While I was eating my biscuit I sang "twinkle twinkle
little star" for Dad's entertainment and delight.
In
the afternoon Mum and Dad took us to the other park with both of our
bikes (this was the first time Dad has seen me riding myu new metal
steed) I was getting dark and as Peter wanted to ride my bike I rode
his - it's a little bit big for me but I managed somehow. I only fell
off twice, fortunately into a nice soft grass verge.
Friday
5th November
I Cycled
to surestart today - it was a top secret assignment which Peter doesn't
know anything about as he was at school. I'm sure he'd complain bitterly
about not being invited. Still my riding skills are improving now that
I have a new bike. The brake is still out of my reach and Dad has to
alter the stabalisers for me, but I'm doing ok so far. There have been
no major accidents.
"Away!
Away!"
Thursday
4th November
I've got a new bike today, it's a proper big boys bike like Peter's
got. It's blue and green and red and yellow. Although it's a bit smaller
than Peter's one I'm sure it will go just as fast. At the moment I can't
quite reach the brake while I'm holding onto the handlebars though.
I'm sure I'll figure someother way to stop it. Perhaps by jumping off.
Wednesday
3rd November
I have a new lengthy bedtime routine. First I gather together
all of the most important toys on my lap. This takes time because there
are many toys and only a small lap. Toys include Rosie and Jim, Pooh
bear, piglet and tigger. Each has to kiss every other today and then
piglet has to kiss all the winnie the pooh stickers that are up on the
wall several times. It takes ages and its a really good bedtime delaying
tactic.
Tuesday
2nd November
I wasn't quite as grumpy today because I had a bit of special
"me" time when Peter went to school. I spent the time perfecting
my two new looks. One is "the scowl" - this means tilting
the head down but keeping the eyes pointing at the scowlee. I use it
for people I've only just met and therefore don't trust and need to
fend off. I'm really good at it now.
The
second look is my cheeky skywards glance which I use when I'm pretending
I haven't noticed Dad. Do do this look I tilt my head upwards (similar
to the scowl) but this time I look up too. I allow a little smile to
play around my mouth before I do a really quick scowl and then go back
to the cheeky look.
Monday
1st November
I did a little bit of extreme swinging today at the park with
the fireman's pole park. I wasn't really afeared in any way despite
the 6 foot drop beneath me. Mum was on standby to catch me and eventually
I had to allow her to carry me down because my little arms were hurting.
For
most of the rest of the day I have been very grumpy. Dad thinks it's
because I didn't want him to go to work this morning. I did try to make
him stay at home by holding on to his trouser leg. But he had to go.
He did his usual trick of appearing at the kitchen window which always
makes me laugh.
