Saturday 31st July
We are all going on holiday today. Apparently the journey should have taken not very long but because EVERYONE in the world was going in the same direction it took ages and ages.

Eventually we got to the campsite and unpacked a few things then it was straight down to the beach for a swim. I did manage to find Grandad's breadknife though. It was hidden immediately and I was very put out.

I didn't even go to bed until it got dark.

Friday 30th July
I was very frustrated at the baby group today because they have put some kind of locking device on the gate that goes out to the road. I'm not entirely sure which mechanism they have used to perform the task, but it's a bit bewildering. I couldn't work it out anyway. I shall have to watch some grown ups doing it and then copy them. That usually does the trick.

We had to go to the post office today and Mum gave me a big bit of paper and a sparkly pen. I wrote a really long letter with sparkles in it.

Later on I got yoghurt on my head.

Thursday 29th July
Today I was very surprised when Dad woke me up from my nap. He's usually at work during nap time but today he came home. He was quite useful and let me lugh when he tickled me. He also blew several raspberries into my neck which always makes me laugh.

At tea time I said "ticket" when I saw the label from the back of the sofa on the table. I asked for it to be given to me lots and lots and when Dad realised what I was saying and actually gave it to me I pretended to be more interested in my cheese on toast and shunned the gift of the ticket.

Wenesday 28th July
I'm not very well today. It's a non specific grumbling illness.

I've got some new bedtime antics to tell you about. As soon as I get put into the middle of my cot, I wriggle up on my back and wedge my head into the corner of the cot and swing my feet around so that I can bang the bars of the cot with my feet. I like to do it so that my feet hit the bars first and then slip off and bang into the wall. Sometimes I do this as soon as I go to bed and sometimes I do it really late at night.

Tuesday 27th July
We went on a little walk around the houses near where we live today. As usual I was doing lots of walking and Peter was moaning that his legs didn't work. We walked just up to the canal and peeped over the wall. There were lots of boats to wave at andeven a few ducks to quack at. When we got home I realised that I'd left my shoe near the wall. We had to go back at get it. It was exactly where I'd kicked it off. I like to keep these matters a secret until the last minute.

Monday 26th July
I climbed up into a fire engine seat today. It was very high up because it was a real fire engine. Mum helped me at the very last minute but I got up most of the way all by my self. Obviously the fire engine wasn't moving at the time. The fire engine was at some kind of parents centre, lovely Mum took us and we were both very good. I did a little bit of running away, but I was only half serious. There was also a bouncy castle which I sort of enjoyed. I think I'm getting the hang of what I'm supposed to be doing on them now. At first I thought the idea was to remain standing. Now I see that it's actually to fall over.

Dad did a really good trick this evening. He actually made a peg DISAPPEAR! He did it AGAIN and AGAIN. it was the best trick ever and I have no idea how he did it.

Sunday 25th July
I was very good at the picnic today. I sat on the circle on the table and listened to the commands of Captain Peter. He didn't make me do any hard work at all so I ate my sandwich. There were a few dogs at the picnic too. I tried to give one my fruit bar but Dad and Mum stopped me.

Dad took me to the golf course for a walk today. we didn't find any golf balls but we did have a good run around. I alternated between walking, running and sitting on Dad's shoulders. I can easily get him to lift me up my catching up with him and standing in front of him. Then I lift my arms up and say "shoulder". Works every time. I hold on very tightly to his hair when I'm up there because it's very high up. It's always fun to reach round and tweak his nose while I'm up there. He always makes his nose beep.

Saturday 24th July
I'm being quite good at sitting down and eating my food on a big chair. I've refused to be tied down by any straps of any kind and I've now perfected my method of escaping from any straps of any kind. I'm fairly sure I could wriggle out of a strait jacket if I was put in one or if I knew what one was.

I sat on Dad's shoulders when we walked around town today. I was the ultimate king of the castle.

Friday 23rd July
I have been sitting very nicely on chairs recently. Today I sat on a chair in the park and ate an ice cream, and, you're fointo find this spooky, but *I DIDN@T GET ANY ICE CREAM ON MY CLOTHES*. That's how good I was. I've also sat perfectly still and eaten my breakfast and my tea. This is completely unlike my usual self, all wriggly and all.

I was trying to attract Dad's attention this morning by saying "money money money money money money". He was washing up and eventually he looked at me. I gave him the 5p that I had removed from Mum's purse. He went back to his washing up so I went and took the £5.00 note out. "money money money money money"

Thursday 22nd July
I went for a very long walk to the park today all on my own. My little legs got a bit tired but I managed the whole journey on my own. Peter climbed to the top of something and got stuck and then Mum went to rescue him. I chose this precise moment to do my running away trick. I didn't get very far though and to stop me during the rescue mum attached me to the ropes by my reins just until Peter had been rescued.

When I woke up from my nap AMBER was there - she's my favourite person from next door. I gave her a big cuddle. I think Mum was a little bit disappointed.

Wednesday 21st July
After my nap I walked all the way to the park all on my own with my reins on. Mum and Peter wanted to play with our new frisbee, but I wanted to run away towards the path or far away dwon to the other end of the park. Mum wasn't too keen and had to keep running after me so we had to some home. I'm guessing that I spoiled it a little bit.

I redeemed myself by eating carrots with Peter at tea time and then spoiled it again by crying at bedtime for ages. Eventually I redeemed myself by going to sleep and staying asleep.

Tuesday 20th July
I watered the plants in the garden today after the lawns had been mysteriously cut while I was having my nap. As usual I watered my feet too. I'm hoping it will make me grow a little bit.

I have managed to get my own way on the not sitting in the highchair for tea. I now have my own chair to sit in. It's much better because I can get down from the table and run around whenever I want to. I think Dad is thinking of putting me back in my highchair again...

Monday 19th July
Today we went for a walk along a stream. I wore my wellies and Mum held on to my reins. Dad stayed on the footpath where it was dry - he was very sensible because the water was so deep that it went over the top of my boots and flooded my feet. It was nice to start with but then it turned bad.

Peter and I helped Dad clean the boot of the car this morning. We helped by constantly climbing into it while he was trying to sweep it. Eventually Mum helped by sweeping it herself and getting Dad to go and do something else. Dad packed all our things in the car and after some lunch and a few jumps on the trampoline we had to go home.

I was very grumpy in the car.

We stopped eventually and all went on a steam train ride. I tried to climb out and Mum and Dad and Peter tried to stop me. It was a great game.

Sunday 18th July
Today I spent a long time in grandma's garden. There's a lot so see and many many bees to point at. There's also a lovely window hat looks in at the kitchen where you can usually see someone doing the washing up. I mostly did whatever Peter said. He would give orders like "Follow me Andrew!" and I would follow him. Usually when we got to the place I was supposed to be following him to, he would change his mind and ask me to follow him somewhere else.

Later on we went to Grandad's house and had a good poke around in all his rooms. He's moving so there are lots of boxes to be looked in.

We had our tea outside in the garden. I even managed to sit still at the table for a few minutes. Long enough to eat half of one piece of bread anyway.

Saturday 17th July
Today we went to another party. It was my great great Aunt's birthday party - she is 90.There were more family members than I care to mention there and I managed to charm them all with a combination of dancing on the stage and peering out at people from under the brim of my hat.

I did play with Daisy a lot - we pushed our pushchairs around the village hall garden for a very long time. Mum decided that we neede to stay awake in the car for the journey home so that we didn't spoil our sleep appetite. Somehow I managed it although I was on the brink of sleep sevreal times. Hannah managed to keep me awake with with regular doses of "this little piggy" and some tickling.

I slept all night and didn't wake up even once.

Friday 16th July
There was a very long jouney today and as usual I wasn't consulted. Actually we were going somewhere nice - Grandma's house! I had a really good look around the house and ran up and down the corridors before all my Aunts arrived.

Dad and I went to pick them up. I fell asleep in the car and when I woke up i was completly surrounded by them, I was a bit overwhelmed, but I soon got used to them. Now I know all their names. I can point at them and say Esther, Bek and Hannah. Usually in the right order.

There was a party this evening and Peter and I had a present of some Playdoh - the best party present ever. We made a lot of sausage shapes.

Thursday 15th July
I'm very nearly exactly one and a half and it's very exciting. I will be nearly exactly half as old as Peter and 60 times younger than my great great Aunt Nell.

I said my vrey first little sentence today. I said "I want Mummy". Dad was putting me to bed and I felt like I needed a littel bit of extra comfort, even though Peter was helping by reading me some sums from his sums book.

Wednesday 14th July
I played a nice game with Peter in the park today. We took our new green car with us. Peter made the car whizz along and I ran after it and brought it back to him. Peter thinks that I may have my uses after all.

I walked all the way home by myself again today - all the way from the park. Mum says that i'm not really supposed to try and get in to other peoples doors. Only my own.

I've got a nasty rash again. :(

Tuesday 13th July
I had a lovely run with Peter today underneath all the pillar bits near the library. After that we went to the park and I was allowed to walk as much as I liked in the whole park. Just to keep things on the humourous side I stoped every few steps and stood on my head so that I could see through my legs at the world behind me. I'm so funny.

Monday 12th July
I did a good thing today, I walked all the way back from Brag which is a good 100 miles or so, all on my own. I did have to squat down for a few quick rests but I actually managed it. The amusing thing was that Peter, who is usually the one who does all the walking wanted to ride in the pushchair. Let him do so I say, it leaves all the more walking for me.

Sunday 11th July
I am soooo tired today because we've done about 100 things. MUm took us out to start with and I fed all the swans and ducks with some crisps that someone had thoughtfully left on the floor for me. I took them one by one and dropped them into the water.

I had a lovely time at the so called "bouncy barn" and Dad took me on the really big slide. It's very steep and you end up sliding into a big pile of green balls. I think Dad liked it even more than I did.

After my nap Dad took us to the golf course. It's perfect for children - lots of lovely safe lawns surrounded by sandpits. We went for a long walk after rolling balls around for a while.I rode in comfort while Peter slogged away on his legs.

Saturday 10th July
Dad took me shopping today, mostly because I was really grumpy. We took ages with the shopping and Dad had to placate me with a cakeand a few grapes while we were going round.

I went to Ben's house this afternoon and Ben wasn't even there. Dad was just picking something up from Ben's Dad and Ben was at his Grandma's house. I played with Bens fantastic garage and camera. Ben's mum offered Dad the camera to take home with us because I liked it very much, but Dad wouldn't let me take it because it makes a noise when you press the button.

Friday 9th July
I got a really good toy at the toy library today. It's got coloured shapes and little sticks. There's a one stick, a two stick, a three stick and so on, all the way up to FIVE sticks. Obviously there's a four stick in the middle somewhere. The game is to stick the shapes on the sticks. I'm really good at it too. I can stick the shapes on the sticks like anything.

I went for ride on the pushchair today standing on the little bar at the back. It was good fun. I didn't fall down into the shopping area either. Like last time.

Thursday 8th July
My favourite thing today was to get all dressed up in my best dungarees and then sitting down in some mud. Everyone loves that.

I also picked a few roses. Mum was a bit cross because they weren't the ones I was supposed to pick. I was supposed to pick the ones on the floor and not the ones on the rose bush. I only got into a little bit of trouble though.

Wednesday 7th July
I didn't really have a nap today - we had to go out of the house afetr lunch because Peter lost his shoe, and when Mum put me to bed after I fell asleep for two minutes I decided not to go back to sleep, so I just lounged around for ages in my cot singing and kicking the bars.

I played a lovely head rolling game with Dad at bedtime tonight. We press our heads together and roll them around a bit - keeping them pressed together - obviously.

Tuesday 6th July
I have got a nasty rash today. Mum says it's from some kind of virus. It's all over me but it defintately isn't chickenpox. It may, or may not have been what has made me grumpy all day.

I can say nose, mouth, teeth, hair, eyes and ears though.

Monday 5th July
I've decided that I will not be strapped in ANYWHERE. I have managed to work out how to wriggle my way out of my highchair, no matter how snugly the straps are fitted. I can also worm my way out of my pushchair straps and even my car seat straps. This, however, seems to be frowned on by everyone. Even Peter tells me not to do it - that's when I know I'm really doing something bad.

Sunday 4th July
Today I have been mostly very grumpy indeed. It's probably my teeth again as I've been chewing everything that I can. Dadtook us out on a special trip somewhere very secret and we saw some penguins. I probably spoiled it a little bit with my constant wriggling and general all round grumpiness. I did like the big owl and the penguins though.

Saturday 3rd July
We have been on lots of outings today. First, after I got up really early, Dad took me to the shops. Mum had been looking after me in the early bit of the day and I thnkshe was a bit fed up of it. I might try staying asleep for longer tomorrow just to see what happens. Anyway, I digress. Dad took me shopping and I was very helpful throughout the whole shopping experience. I said all my pleases and thankyous in the right place and as a reward I received some fragments of test biscuit, some grapes and some of a muffin. All of these things were delicious. I fell asleep on the wya home.

Eventually I was woken up and we all went out with Dad to a fair of some sort. There wasn't much fun to be had as everything had just about finished. I did eat a biscuit though. It was in the shape of a bear. The rest of the day was taken up with shopping and the like. Dad took Peter out on his bike so I had a lovely time with Mum at home on our own. It's nice to get her to myself for a change.\

Friday 2nd July
I have had a lovely day today. Mum took us all to stratford ON THE TRAIN!!!! ok, I wriggled a little bit when we got on the train, but as soon as Mum realised she had left the changing bag out on the platform when we were all safely on the train I sat still on my seat. Mum nipped out and got the bag even though the man on the seat had shuffled up to the bag as if it belonged to him. THE CHEEK. he can't have MY nappies.

We had a lovely time in stratford, we went to the park where there wenre't any puddles for me to jump in and then we went to the rag doll shop where I played in teletubie land forat least an hour.

Oh NO! Peter is ill! he doesn't even like being tickled.

Thursday 1st July
I play some lovely games with Dad at bed time at the moment. We play the point at the bed game and then the body part identification game and then we do a bit of singing. After that I do the yes no yes no game and a little bit of blinking practice. I've started blinking because Dad always blinks when I try to poke him in the eye (when we're playingthe body part identification game). I like to make sure I get the eyes properly, so i poke a little bit more insistently.

I tried folding my arms today. Dad laughed at me but he said I looked nice.
