Saturday 31st January
Today I have mostly been concentrating on not making my poor old bottom any sorer than it already is. Sadly, this seems to be unavoidable - as well as all the obvious tooth related problems there now seems to be the added indignity of losing my sense of balance. I've been falling over on my bottom all day long.

Friday 30th January
We all went out to the baby place today. I had a lovely time, I climbed up the little steps on the tunnel and crawled all the way across it. I was following Peter. I'm hoping that we can have a tunnel of some sort at home this weekend.

Dad read "Dear Zoo" to me again this morning. I made growling noises for every animal. I know that one of them growls, i'm just not sure which one. Growling at all off them just covers me.

My teeth are still giving me terrible trouble. My bottom is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery sore. Mum has been applying ointment all day.

Thursday 29th January
We went into the garden to play with the snow today. It was a little bit cold for me though so I asked to go in the swing. That at least kept me off the ground while I was waiting for everyone else to see sense and go inside. Mum had to clean the ice off the swing with boiling water and she took ages and ages. I turned my face to the sky and howled until she had finished (in my own inimitable way).

Wednesday 28th January
I'm still ill today, butI did manage to have a nice time at St. Mary's. I toddled off on my own and played a few very satisfying and secretive games. Peter was kind enough to lend me a little bike, and I had a long scoot around on that.

I'm off my food - it's official. I haven't eaten very much today AND i've been sick a few times too. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good nights sleep without Mum and DAd disturbing me too much.

Tuesday 27th January
Peter is the best brother in the world. He's pushed me around in the trolley and in the washing basket. Almost tirelessly.

I had to go to the doctors because I wasn't feeling very well. The Doctor had a really good look at me (especially in my ears) but he couldn't find anything. Maybe I was just being grouchy today - no one knows for sure. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and even more hopefully I won't wakeup 5 times in the night.

Monday 26th January
I have been doing lots of adventuring today. I've pushed my self around in the trolley, climbed up onto the big chair and then on to the table, and of course on to the sofa, where I sling myself over the arm ofthe chair back onto the ground again. It's all good fun until my head gets banged - which happens quite often.

I was sick twice today. Once on the floor and once on Dad's lettuce.

Sunday 25th January
Swimming again! I make that several times that we've been recently. This time I did a lot of wiggling about in the water. I swallowed some but it came back out of my nose so that was ok. I had a very special treat too, because Dad took me on the big slide several times. I was a little shocked at the speed of our descent to start with but I was used to it before we got to the bottom and asked to go on it again several times.

I played with the garage with Dad for a while in the afternoon while Mum read to Peter. We pushed the cars up and down the ramp and when we got bored of that we pushed the people up and down.

Dad cooked me a special tea which said "Andrew" on it. I carefully carefully tipped it all over my head.

Saturday 24th January
Dad has had a good poke around in my mouth today and I am informed that my fourth molar has broken through the surface and that there may be as many as 3 pointy canine teeth lurking just below the surface. It's no wonder my poor old bottom is so sore - four teeth all at once. Rubbish.

I did a lovely drawing this morning - I also sucked some of the felt tip pens and drew a moustache on my face with the green one. I look very smart.

Friday 23rd January
Ducks ducks everywhere! There was a lovely package from Mama today which contained at least two ducks for everyone. One of the items is a squirty duck and the other is a beautiful duck costume towel thing. I look very fashionable in it.

My soreness is improving.

Thursday 22nd January
I was very good today at brag. I went into the room with all the adults with Mum because of my very sore bottom. I sat on her lap for nearly two hours, listening very carefully to what everyone was saying. I learnt all their secrets about controlling childrens behaviour. I was a bit sad that they didn't have any information about controlling sore bottoms.

My bottom is very sore, as I may have mentioned. Dad says it's all due to my teeth.

Wednesday 21st January
I've had a lovely day toay, Wewent to a new baby group, although Peter tells me that it's an old one that we ahven't been to for a long time. I had a good go at riding a tricycle, Peter had one with pedals - something which mine was lacking. I don't think I have the leg coordination yet anyway.

Dad gave me some pull along ducks this morning and I had a good go at saying "duck". It mostly just came out as "D" though. Still - Dad said it was a really good try.

Tuesday 20th January
Dad is still reading me a book in the morning, just after we have fun deflating the mattress. He's been letting me choose the book too. Sometimes he swaps it for one that's gotflaps in it though because I always feel the pages to check if there's anything to lift up.

I like playing in the toy box corner too. I can spend - ooooh - minutes taking all the toys out and finding one that I want to play with. Peter is very helpful too - he says things like "This toy is suitable for babies", and he's usually right.

Monday 19th January
My teeth have been giving me trerrible trouble today - I have been dribbling like anything. This has made me very sad.

I have been playing a new game with Mum. She wears a jumper or a top of some sort and I lift it up. The winner is the first person to laugh at her tummy button. It's usually me.

Ben came to visit us today and he was kind enough to bring me a birthday present. It was a lovely wooden man, that rocks around. We played sort of together with the same toys. Peter was a bit of a nuisance though. He was a little bit over excited.

Sunday 18th January
I'm still ONE today and there is still some wrapping paper around for me to play with.

Dad made me an exciting house out of the sofa and some sheets. The construction was rudimentary, but it served its purpose. I enjoyed going in through the door and out again time after time. Dad just sat inside it and waited for me.

I had a really good go at my new puzzle today. I got the circle, square and triangle pieces in eventually. The star shaped piece poses more of a problem though.

Some of my recent words are... "yes" "no" "hello" "goodbye" "lala" "this" and "daddy"

Saturday 17th January
I am ONE! It's been a long time since I was 0, but I've done it -I have acheived my primary age goal. ONE.

I've had lots and lots of lovely presents today, I got a beautiful bear from Mama, he's going straight into my cot. Grandma ruth also gave me a lovely bear so there's a friend for the first one. I spent a long time playing my new xylophone today - You can really give it a pounding with the special stick that comes with it.

In the evnening I had a special cake that Peter made for me. It had ONE candle on it. It was pink inside and it hada train on to of it. Birthday's are good. I'm wondering when I'll be able to have another one.

Friday 16th January
It's my 364th day around this place today and tomorrow I shall be ONE. The big 1. I can honestly say that it's been the best year of my life - although my teeth are still hurting, so I won't include today. I'm looking forward to tomorrow anyway - there are several packages that look suspiciously like they may be for me hanging around the place. We shall see.

Thursday 15th January
I drank some bits of paint today. First I tried the green and that was a bit rubbish, so i tried the red and then the blue to see if they were any better. They were just as bad. Luckily for me Mum came along before I had to try any more. My face and clothes were all covered in paint. I don't think I'll be trying any more paint - unless of course it's yellow - I haven't tried yellow yet.

Teeth. My face is very sore.

Wednesday 14th January
I've had a very grumpy day today. My teeth have been hurting and for some reason Peter hasn't been letting me play with any toys today. I think there was some kind of new rule that only started today. I have been trying to do some special baby puzzles today. all the pieces have little handles on them so that small fingers can pick them up easily. I managed to get a few out before Peter enforced his rule. Maybe the rules will be relaxed tomorrow.

It saw my first snow today. I wasn't very impressed.

Tuesday 13th January
I helped Mum with the hoovering today, I helped by chaseing the hoover around when Mum was pushing it and generally getting in the way.

I was in a slightly better mood today - I've found that because molar teeth have four points there is a lot of poking and tearing to the gums, which is never pleasant. I shall have to remind Dad to give me some Calpol this evening before bed. Perhaps the threat of a bit of tooth grinding will persuade him.

Monday 12th January
My teeth are really hurting me today. That is the excuse that Dad has told me to use whenever I am grumpy during the day. Actually - there is a new one coming it's on the left and at the bottom. It's not through yet though.

In other tooth related news, I have started experimenting with grinding my teeth at bed time. Dad told me to stop several times. I think it made him feel a bit funny.

Sunday 11th January
I went out to the shops with Dad today, and afterwards we went to see some friends of his. I had a good rummage around their house. I managed to get in nearly every room too. They even have a Beegirl, unless our one somehow got to their house - I gave their one a kiss. I pulled the dog's toe and he made a loud noise which scared me a little bit. Not as much as I scared the dog though.

Dad bought me a bucket from the DIY shop - at least, I think it was for me. If not, then he'll find that I have claimed it as my own. I spent quite a while getting in and out of it. Dad has to hold it though because I was wobbling it quite a lot and Dad didn't want me to fall over. I have also been having some climbing adventures on the arm of the chair. I like to climb up one side and then swing my legs over the arm and drop to the floor.

Last night was the very first night that I slept from when I was put to bed until the morning. Mum and Dad were quite pleased.

Saturday 10th January
It's officially only a week until my birthday. I'm wondering what's going to happen. I hope there will be lots of wrapping paper.

I've been playing with Esther and Hannah today and they have been doting on me - apart from when they were asleep this morning for ages and when they fell asleep in the afternoon. I crawled and walked all over them but they didn't wake up. Dad was taking notes.

Friday 9th January
I have been saying quite a few new words today, PLUS! a whole sentence. Dad had to go somewhere with Esther today and I said "bye bye Daddy" when he left. He was very impressed. I have also been saying "Yes" and "No" when I'm asked questions. I usually accompany a "yes" with some emphatic nodding. Don't take too much notice of my actual answers though as I just pick one at random. I also said "night night", and at the appropriate time too.

Peter spent a long time pushing be around in the washing basket today. We played for a long time very nicely and I didn't get tipped out.

Dad didn't come home for ages today, but Peter reassured me by telling me not to worry because Daddy was coming home in the car.

Thursday 8th January
I fell down some stairs today, luckily I was un-hurt. I shan't be trying that again.

I opened the toilet door at Brag about 50 times today. Mum was getting a bit fed up of constantly having to come and get me. She was told that the only other person who has managed to do it that many times was Peter. I think that's funny.

Wednesday 7th January
I wasn't very well last night. I stayed up and cried for hours and hours. My tummy was very hard and there were a lot of burps to be done. Mum and Dad both gave me lots of cuddles and even some medicine.

The cause of my troubles last night may have been revealed today - there's a new tooth in my mouth- it's on the left and at the top. Another Molar! that makes 11 teeth so far. There's also one coming on the left at the bottom. I'm hoping it comes soon.

Whenever I go near Peter's puzzles Peter says "Oh oh - here comes trouble!" Peter is very funny and makes me laugh a lot. I'm always getting in a muddles trying to do what he is doing. He's also been teaching me some words recently. He's taught me "please", which I had a little go at saying. It didn't come out quite right though.

Tuesday 6th January
I wasn't feeling very well this evening. I've got a very sore tummy which is making me uncomfortable. It's also been very difficult to get to sleep - Mum had to rock me for ages and ages. Last night was a different story - I slept like a baby for most of the night and woke up all smiley in the morning. I'm going to try to sleep all night tonight too but the sore tummy might get in the way.

I like to get Mum or Dad to walk around with me holding my hand at the moment. As long as they go where I lead them it's alright. It's easy to do - take a firm grip on any finger and drag them along.

Monday 5th January
It was very cold outside today. OBviously this meant that I had to spend as much time as possible trying to take my socks and shoes off. It's a game that Mum and Dad never tire of. I take them off and then they put them back on me again, muttering. Peter told me about that one.

I had a good game of hide and seek (lite) today with Dad. I hid behind the curtain and then peeped out and then he hid behind the curtain and then peeped out. It's nice when you know where you stand.

Sunday 4th January
I've been very good today - apart from when we had visitors. They arrived just after I woke up from my nap and I'm never really prepared for that kind of thing - it was only max and aleks and they did bring me a lovely jigsaw puzzle as a present, so it was probably rather churlish of me to shout at them.

We went out for a walk in the park but we couldn't get in because Dad didn't have £1.30. Mum didn't either so we had to go to a different one. I sat in my pushchair patiently.

Saturday 3rd January
We went to a park today, but it was too cold for me so I sat very patiently in my pushchair with my cositoes on so that I could stay nice and warm. The best bit of the trip for me was going to the shops. I enjoyed looking at the ceiling of the shop while Dad pushed me round and round.

In the afternoon Dad took me on another shopping trip to buy me a new milk cup. Rather embarrasingly when we got to the checkout he discovered that he didn't have his wallet. We looked round another few shops and didn't buy anything there either. We did have a good time in the lifts though.

Friday 2nd January
Everyone has been watching me trying to climb into the potty for some time now. I think they thought that I was trying to sneak onto Dad's desk again. Mum finally worked out what I was trying to do and sat me down on the potty - just like Peter, only with all my clothes on. Still - it was a thrilling experience.

No nap for me this afternoon. I'm experimenting with getting rid of one or other of them so that I can get a bit more playtime. There are various options open to me. I can lose the 45 minute morning one and add a few minutes to my afternoon one, or sleep for longer in the morning and only have a bit in the afternoon. I'm currently in negotiations with Peter, as he likes to do puzzles on the floor while I'm asleep.

Thursday 1st January
It's my first ever new year AND the start of a month that should include my birthday in it somewhere, so it's been a very exciting day for me.

Not only was Grandma still here this morning AND available to play with but my cousins Sam and Daisy came to see us too. We had lots of fun covering the whole floor in toys. As fast as Dad and Mum tidied up we emptied boxes and spread the contents around. Sadly they couldn't stay very long but we've promised to meet up again.
